Bookbinding
Recently, I had the chance to join in a friend’s spontaneous book binding session at Kunstquartier Bethanien in Berlin. I never did anything practical in this field before, but I immediately felt that this is a unique opportunity to explore new shores and enter the world of bookbinding. Here I show you some impressions of my very first outcome of this fantastic technique. In total I made 4 sketchbooks with the so-called perfect binding (also called adhesive binding or Lumbeck-binding). They’re all A5 size and have a hard cover. Below in the picture gallery you can see some steps during that process.
